Four inns and suites, one site, and dates that carry through to booking

Shorebreak Resorts runs four places to stay in Ocean City, New Jersey: Impala Island Inn, open since 1965, Impala Suites, Ebb Tide Suites and Wild Dunes Inn. We built one site for all four, around what a family checks first: which building, which room, and what it costs.

The brief

Shorebreak wanted one site where a family could pick the right building and the right room for their week, then get to booking without getting lost on the way.

Many of their guests have been coming to Ocean City for decades. The site had to read easily for them, show the real buildings and say only what the record supports.

What we built

  1. 01

    A page for each building

Impala Island Inn, Impala Suites, Ebb Tide Suites and Wild Dunes Inn each have their own page, with their rooms, address, front desk number and guest reviews. The home page links all four from the first screen.

  2. 02

A drone flight at sunset, a still frame on phones

Real drone footage of Impala Suites at sunset opens the home page, compressed to 2.2 MB. Screens under 768 px wide and browsers in data saver mode get a still frame and never download the video.

  3. 03

    Dates picked once

A booking bar on the first screen asks for the resort, the dates and the number of guests, with a two-month calendar that becomes a one-month sheet on phones. The dates travel to the booking page, and from there a link opens the hotels’ RMS Cloud booking engine with the dates and guests already filled in.

  4. 04

Rooms and rates from the booking engine

Room types and base nightly rates come from each property’s public RMS Cloud data for September 2026, before tax. Guest reviews are quoted word for word, with the site where they were posted.

  5. 05

Type for guests who have been coming for decades

Two in three visitors to Cape May County are 46 or older. The first typeface had the smallest x-height of the twelve we measured, so we moved to Source Serif 4 and set body text a weight heavier. The new fonts are lighter to download than the old ones.

Every fact with its source

Each line of history on the site comes from a published source. Impala Island Inn opened in 1965 and its present owners bought it, with Ebb Tide and Wild Dunes, in 2018, as Ocean City Magazine reported in May 2022; Impala Suites was built new and opened in 2021. The welcome note says it plainly: “The Island Inn has stood on this corner since 1965.”

The everyday details follow the same rule. Each building lists its own front desk number, and every page describes the place as guests do: Wild Dunes Inn sits beside the Castaway Cove amusement pier, so its page leads with the rides and the short walk to the beach and the boardwalk.

Where it stands

The site is a demo at impala.appdeuna.com, kept out of search engines. Booking requests made on the site stay in the visitor’s browser and reach no one until they are connected to the front desk. The link to the RMS Cloud booking engine works today. Before launch, the hotels confirm the check-in time, the minimum age and the fees, where their own pages and the booking engine disagree. The plan is to move the site to shorebreakresorts.com.

What we did

  • Design and development
  • A page for each of the four properties
  • Booking bar and request flow (demo)
  • Link to the RMS Cloud booking engine with dates filled in
  • Rooms, rates, phones and history checked against sources
  • FAQ and cancellation policy from the inn’s published pages

Built with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, no framework. Bookings through the RMS Cloud booking engine. Type: Source Serif 4 and Public Sans.
